Marcus D. Sims, age 60, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at his home in North Conway, New Hampshire. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he was born May 7, 1957 to the late James D. and Anna P. Miller Sims.

Marcus spent the final couple of years of life living in Freedom, NH where, in spite of his health conditions, he indulged his adventurous nature in order to explore a new region and make new friends. He joined Freedom Christian Church, just across the street from his home, and his outgoing personality enabled him to make many new friends in the tiny hamlet nestled between the White Mountains and the North Atlantic Ocean. Marcus' penchant for words entertained and inspired his many Facebook friends as we followed him on his final journey. He was beloved by all who knew him and an inspiration to keep a joyful spirit and nature in spite of the ongoing health issues he faced. His fighting spirit and positive attitude will ever serve as a positive example of "living in the moment" to all of us.

Visitation will be 12-2pm on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, followed by a celebration of Marcus' life at 2pm. Burial will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, 2775 Deatsville Rd, Coxs Creek, KY 40013.
