*With the death of James Sullivan, Monroe County loses another pioneer resident. Mr. Sullivan was born in Rochester, New York, January, 1825, and came west at the age of 15 years and settled in Toledo. After residing in Ohio about nine years he moved to this county, where he made his home up to his death, which occurred at his residence on Monday evening, the 14th inst. The deceased leaves a family of seven grown children, six girls and one boy. He was widely known through the county and his many friends will be pained at his loss. His remains were buried from St. John's Church this morning. M.D. 10-17-1889)
Aged 64 years
I have not been able to read all of the marker to prove if James name is on the marker. Can't get between the tree and marker to see it. It is in shade, so hard to get a reading. Marker is leaning and is huge.
