FORMER BLACKSMITH DIES FROM HEART ATTACK AT 80


A sudden heart attack claimed the life of Archie E. Dunn, 80, at his home northwest of Spencerville about 11 a.m. Tuesday.


Mr. Dunn suffered the attack about two hours earlier at his home. He had been in fair health considering his age until the unexpected seizure.


The body was removed to the Baidinger & Walter funeral home in Spencerville where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday.


The Rev. Loren Shackleton, pastor of the Church of God in Auburn, will officiate at the services and burial will follow in the White City cemetery at Spencerville.


Mr. Dunn was born north of Auburn and resided in the area all of his lifetime. He was a former Auburn blacksmith and a retired farmer.


He was born Oct. 4, 1882, and was the son of the late John and Sarah Thomas Dunn. On May 8, 1911, he and Pearl Penland were married in Auburn.


Surviving in addition to the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Butler of Spencerville; a son, Robert Dunn at home; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a brother, Elmer Dunn of near Waterloo. Two other sons preceded him in death.
