Mary was the daughter of Ebenezer and Eunice (Moss) Tuttle. She married Rufus, son of William Atwater, on December 18, 1777 in Wallingford, CT. Rufus was her first cousin, the son of her father, Ebenezer's sister, Esther.

They had at least 5 children:
-Sabina b, about 1779 - October 15, 1845 (married (1) John Dunn and (2) Morgan Connor)
-Luman 1781 - Feb. 3, 1867 (married Mary Keay)
-Adolphus 1783 - 1843
-William b. November 28, 1785 - July 28, 1855 (married Mary Elizabeth Elliot and Catherine Babson)
-Esther b. December 25, 1787/89 - July 2, 1865 (married William Henry Stople)

After Rufus's death in 1790, Mary married Elisha Randall in 1792 and moved to Little River, Sidney Co., Nova Scotia.

Mary and Elisha had the following children:
James Randall
Elisha Matthew Randall
John Alexander Randall
Sarah Randall

Mary died of measles, and records show she was buried in the Anglican Church Cemetery in Bayfield, Nova Scotia.
