Arthur Lee Ritthaler, 87, of Morton, went to be with his savior Jesus Christ, joining his loving wife on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017. He was born on Jan. 27, 1930, to Louis and Pauline (Greiner) Ritthaler in Groveland. He married the love of his life, Lois Jean Knoll in Morton on Nov. 1, 1953.
Art is survived by four wonderful children, Dan Ritthaler of Bartonville, Debbie (Keith) Moser of Morton, Darrell (Kim) Ritthaler of Germantown Hills, and Diane Smith of Morton; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, two brothers, Robert and Merle Ritthaler and great granddaughter, Charlotte Hill.
Art attended Groveland Grade School and East Peoria High School, graduating in 1947. He had many good friendships that lasted a lifetime. In the Korean Conflict, he served from 1951-1953. Art was employed by Caterpillar for 38 years, starting the day of high school graduation until his retirement in 1985.
After retiring, Arthur drove for WeCare, Inc. for several years and was a long-time member of Grace Church in Morton.
He loved spending time with his family. Art enjoyed golf, Cardinal baseball, fishing (thanks to his father-in-law, Bob Knoll), hunting (thanks to his good friend, Jack Zimmerman), and many years of camping with his wife and children; visiting most of the 50 states and Canada.
Arthur wants to thank his children for their love and care over the years and his children would like to thank Apostolic Christian Restmor for Dad's care.
