Alice J. (Geake) Burtnett, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, among loving family members.

Born July 15, 1928, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of William K. and Corrine Hoover Geake.

She was raised in the Fort Wayne area and graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1946. Alice spent the last 35 years in Albuquerque N.M.

Alice is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard Burtnett; children, Nancy Shaw (Steven) Jarrett, William Shaw, Kristine Shaw (Dale) Paxton, Pamela (David) Curnock, Patricia (Warren) Buck, and Kelly (Blaine) Boazman; stepchildren, Mark Burtnett and Beth Till; and sister, Carolyn (Ron) Rakoczy; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Patricia Geake, Mary Helen Geake, and Betty Stevens; and stepchildren, Michael, Robert, Jeffrey and Sandra Burtnett and Christine Hutton.

A celebration of life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1605 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Laurie Spindler officiating.

Donations may be made to donor's local hospice.
