Janice Pearl Oxley Atkinson, 93, Salem, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

She was born on Sunday, September 28, 1924 to the late Elbert Lee and Bessie Alvis Oxley.

She was also preceded by her husband, Clarence White Atkinson; a son who was killed in Vietnam, Roger D. Atkinson; four sisters; and three brothers.

Her church membership was held at Christian Life International Church.

Left to cherish her memory is a son, Mark R. (Ponza) Atkinson; daughter, Sandy A. (Walt) Anderson; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday, October 6, 2017, at Christian Life International Church with Rev. Kenneth Kingrea, Rev. Debbie Hutton, and Rev. Ryan Linkous officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Piedmont Cemetery in Shawsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piedmont Ladies Auxiliary at PO Box 6654 in Christiansburg, Va. 24068.
