James Carcel Baker, age 84, passed away at Kings Daughters Medical Center.

Mr. Baker is a son of the late Nathan Baker and Bertha Qualls Baker Tackett.

He was the owner of Tackett's Furniture in Olive Hill, and owned and operated Baker's Brindles, a dog breeding business.

He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the US Navy, specializing in Radar Equipment and Electronics. He was a member of the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge 629, Scottish Rite, and El Hasa Shrine. He was a member of Olive Hill First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Eden Baker; one daughter, Carolyn Lee Baker Stamper; two brothers, Thurman Baker and Elmo Baker; two sister, Ola Burchett and Loretta Sparks.

He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Baker Harman, and her husband Ted Harman of Harrodsburg; one grandson, Mitchell Stamper of Muncie, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Mitchell Stamper and Meredith Stamper Carpenter; a son-in-law, Marvin Stamper.
