On April 1, Henry Mayhew, of Poe district, who is keeping the poor of Hancock county WV for the past five years will turn them over to Isaac F. Allison, of Grant District, who has contracted to keep them for the ensuing five years. Mr. Allison, having purchased the Whipkey farm near the Washington school house, and recently moved to the same, the
poor will be taken there. Mr. Allison's bid was $150 less per year than Mr. Mayhew's or $750 less for the five years those who know Mr. Allison say he will provide well for them during his term.

Liveryman I. F. Allison met with a painful infury to his right leg yesterday morning. He was leading a young horse up the incline from the basement of his stable to the vehicle room when the animal lost its footing. At the same time Mr. Allison fell and the animal stepped on his leg below the knee. Luckily Mr. Allison's leg was not broken, but the flesh was badly brusied and his ankle sprained. He will be unable to get about much for several days to come.

Liveryman Isaac F. Allison brought in two mammoth apples from his farm yesterday. They are of the "Twenty ounce" variety and perfect specimens. The two apples weighted one and three quarter pounds. One is 14 inches in circumference the other 13 3/4 inches. These are the biggest apples seen here this year.

After a lingering illness due to cancer Isaac F. Allison, one of the pioneer farmers of West Virginia, died at his home of his daughter Mrs. Earl Cunningham, of Washington school district at nine thirty last evening. He was in his 69th year. The deceased was one of the most highly respected farmers of the county. He was survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. Earl Cunningham and one son, Ammond Allison, all of Washington school district. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Isaac succumbed last night at 9:55 o'clock at this home near the Washington school, death being due to cancer.

Isaac Fowler Allison, aged 65 years died Sunday night shortly before 10 o'clock, following a lingering illness of three years. Mr. Allison was one of the most highly respected men in Hancock County. As a neighbor and friend he was ever willing and eager to lend a helping hand. Deceased was born 29 Apr 1872, in Grant district, Hancock county. He was united in marriage to Miss Susan V. Allison, June 27, 1872, the couple taking up their residence in this county. Three children were born to them, the eldest, Wilfred dying several years ago. One daughter, Mrs. Mary B. Cunningham, at home, and one son, Reason H. Allison of near the Allison school house. Two brothers William H. Allison of Chester and A. S. Allison of near Asbury chapel, also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at 11 o'clock from the family residence near Washington school house. Rev. L. O. Douds pastor of the Newell M. E. church conducted the services. Interment was made in Locust Hill cemetery.
