Alexander Stogdal Allison

Alexander Stogdal Allison, 88, retired Hancock county farmer, died in his home near the Asbury chapel Sunday at 1:45 p.m. following a brief illness of influenza. Mr. Allison, a son of Robert B. Allison and Blanche Wilcoxen Allison, was born in Hancock county on May 13, 1850. He spent his lifetime in the county. He was a member of the Junior Order of American Mechanics and the Asbury Methodist Episcopal chapel. He leaves his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Dora Greenwalt of Chester and Mrs. C. L. Kennedy of East Liverpool; two sons, Alvah Allison of near Chester and Edgar Allison, at home; seven grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held in his home Wednesday at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. T. Homer Smith, pastor of the Newell Methodist Episcopal church, assisted by Rev. L. C. Douds, pastor of the Chester Methodist Episcopal church. Burial will be made in Locust Hill cemetery near Chester. Friends may call at the home.
