Barbara Jean (Blount) Anderson, 87, a longtime resident of Hubbard, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 in a Waco nursing center. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10 at First United Methodist Church of Hubbard with Rev. Bob Rainey and Rev. Ricky Woodall officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, October 9 at Wade Funeral Home in Hubbard.
Barbara was born December 2, 1929 in Hubbard to Gadye Blount and Callie (Crain) Blount. She was a lifelong resident of Hubbard, a graduate of Hubbard High School and later attended Baylor University. Barbara and her late husband, James, owned and operated Anderson Insurance Agency in Hubbard for many years after James retired from General Tire in Waco. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Hubbard as well as a faithful member of Quilters for Christ at the church. Barbara and James were active supporters of the Hubbard Jaguars especially when their three children were playing sports and later followed their grandchildren’s sporting endeavors as well.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Anderson
Pallbearers will be Barbara’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
