Daughter of Major Loggins and Elizabeth Clayton.
Granddaughter of John Loggns, Revolutionary War soldier.

First wife of Vincent Garner Self, married 9 JAN 1819 in St. Clair Co. Alabama (born circa 1798 TN), uncle of Vincent Self (1815-1861) who married her sister Mahalia Loggins.

After Louisa's death, Vincent Garner Self married Keziah (Hughes) Hallmark, widow of Carter L. Hallmark, 27 SEP 1854 in Blount County, Alabama.

Died at Selfville, Blount County, Alabama. Said to be buried at Selfville Cemetery, thought to be the original cemetery that later was called Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Obituary of Mrs. J.L. Self (nee Malinda Thomas) in The Alabama Southern Democrat, 24 July 1924, states that she was buried "at Selfville Cemetery," and she is buried at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery (ref., People and Things from the Blount County, Alabama Southern Democrat 1920-27 (2012) by Robin Sterling, p.190).
