Lucille Hawkins passed away October 1, 2017 in Weatherford, TX.

She was born in Floyd, TX March 3, 1923.

Lucille grew up and attended Schools near Sulphur Springs, TX.

After graduating high school, she moved to Fort Worth, TX, where she had several good jobs.

She attended First Baptist Church in Ft. Worth with her 2 sisters & brothers-in-law. Met many nice people there.

She worked at Consolidated Aircraft during World II, doing whatever jobs were needed. Patriotism ran high then. Women were doing jobs that men did usually, but the men had gone to war, including Lucille's Brother Pete.

Not long after Pete joined the army, Lucille joined the US Army also, WAC, Div. Her first duty station was Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. She then transferred to Hot Springs, AR, where she worked in the hospital there earning the promotion of Corporal. When her three years ended with an, Honorable Discharge, on Sept. 18, 1951, Lucille was offered a job with the US Dept. of State, and was employed there many years and traveled most of the world, a great opportunity which few experience - from the East to the West to South America the islands around the Corridor after Gen. MacArthur was there. Then back to the states for a job at the Pentagon, which she greatly enjoyed and she worked with so many nice people. Upon returning home, she moved to Hurst, TX. and joined the First Baptist Church in Euless, TX. where she sung in the choir, and met many wonderful people there.

However, 4 years ago, she moved to Weatherford, TX., near relatives, and lived at Brookdale Assisted Living.

Lucille was proceeded in death by her parents Earl Jackson Hawkins and Jessie Lucille Hawkins; Sisters, Faye Richards, Marverine Hearne, Mary Ave Nell Sparks; Brothers, Charles, Pete Hawkins, Earl Lawrence Hawkins; Survivors include; Mary Kathryn Hawkins, Ruidoso, New Mexico. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews - Larry Hawkins, Guy Hawkins, Gary Don Craig, Bill McKay, Lindy Hearne, Gail Price & Charlotte Frerich, Sue Zupanic, Judy Nagle and Joan Thompson with Lindy Hearn.
