Dale LeGrande Ahlstrom, passed away Wednesday, 27 September 2017 at his home in South Jordan, Utah.

Dale was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday, 8 August 1945, to Bland Stewart and Vera Ada (Lloyd) Ahlstrom. He lived a full and satisfying life. After graduating from South High School in 1963, Dale joined the U. S. Navy and served in Vietnam. Upon returning from active duty, he joined the Air National Guard and completed twenty-one years' service. He became an electronic technician and was instrumental in developing many innovative products which were patented.

He married Iris Booth, and they welcomed three children: Joseph (Julie Anne) Ahlstrom, AnJanette (Rex) Jackson, and James (Robin) Ahlstrom. They were later divorced.

Dale then married Carol Jean Adderley Duncan, who had four children: Vicky (Steve) Webb, Dan (Julia) Duncan, Lynda (Gary) Johnson, and Paula (Dean) Myers. They were later sealed in the Oakland LDS Temple.

As a member of the LDS Church, Dale's favorite assignment was that of Scoutmaster, and he excelled in helping numerous boys receive their Eagle Scout award. Dale loved watching sports, especially teams from the University of Utah, and enjoyed bantering with friends whose blood ran not red, but blue. He loved playing baseball, constructing models, traveling, square dancing, and working in his yard.

A devoted husband, Dale spent several years caring for his wife, Carol.

In addition to his wife, children and step-children, Dale is survived by his sister, Elaine Rawlings; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd, and sister and brother-in-law, Arlene (Tom) Mendenhall.

A family visitation was held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, on Tuesday, 3 October 2017, from 6 to 8 P.M., and on Wednesday, 4 October, from 9 to 10 A.M. Dale's funeral service followed at 11 A.M., with interment and full military honors in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Gardens.
