CRASH INJURY TAKES LIFE OF S.L. MAN

Lloyd Ahlstrom, 30, 1489 S. State, died in a Salt Lake hospital Sunday at 12:45 a.m. of complications from injuries suffered in an automobile-utility pole collision Nov. 13 on a frontage road near 8th West, south of 17th North.
Police reports filed by Officer W. L. Heaps showed that the victim was a passenger in an automobile driven by Lorus Bateman Pratt, 34, 2966 E. 2965 South.
Mr. Pratt and Ardis Pixton, 22, 1052 E. 12400 South, Draper, also were injured in the accident.
Officer Heaps reported that the automobile failed to negotiate a curve, left the road and hit a utility pole. The auto was demolished.
Mr. Ahlstrom, a dock worker for Consolidated Freightways, attended Sandy schools. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was born May 17, 1931, in Sandy, a son of Bland and Vera Lloyd Ahlstrom. He married Kathryn Royal Sept. 12, 1952, in Salt Lake City.
Survivors include his widow; a son, Kerry, 8; stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Reid; brother, Dale Ahlstrom, and two sisters, Mrs. Cameron (Arlene) Cooley and Miss Elaine Ahlstrom, all of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at 8090 S. State, Midvale, where friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Midvale City Cemetery.
