Catheryn Asher Riley passed away on April 5, 2015 of natural causes at Meridian, ID. She was born on July 24, 1926, the second of ten children born to Daniel and Helen Reynolds, on a farm in the 10 mile area of Meridian. She was 3 years old when the family moved to the farm east of Kuna. There she grew up, attended Mora Grade School and graduated from Kuna High School in 1943.

She married Henry Asher of Friley, AR on February 22, 1944. They had three children, Jo T., Deborah and Brenda. After Henry's death in June, 1953 Catheryn went to work in the hematology department at the Caldwell Community Hospital laboratory from 1958 until her retirement in 1988. Catheryn was married to Gerald Riley of Boise from 1965 until his death in 1984. She met Clarence Puckett in 1995 and he remained the love of her life until his death in 2006.

Catheryn never left the Kuna/Mora community where she grew up and shared in the lives of many of her neighbors. She held these people in very high regard, never losing sight of all the kindness she received from them. She so enjoyed those neighbors who just stopped by to "shoot the breeze" or join her on a fishing trip.

Catheryn didn't want to miss her Celebration of Life party so a "pre-funeral wake" was hosted by Bob and Sue Evangelho and Linda Ostolasa in 2010. It was well attended by both family and community members with lots of laughter, funny stories and shared memories... it was a highlight in her life.

She leaves behind her son, Jo T. Asher (Belita) of WY, daughter, Brenda Asher of FL, and son-in-law, Thair Pond (Dee) of Meridian, two sisters, Dora Payne (Willard) of Nampa and Helen Pike of AZ, five grandchildren: Nina Asher, Aaron Larson, Justin Pond, Catie Pond and Scott Pond, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Deborah Pond and five sisters and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to ALS Foundation, P.O. Box 96, Natick, MA 01760.

A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Kuna Event Center, 321 West 4th Street, Kuna, ID. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.
