OBITUARY

Died, at the residence of his brother, Mr. Quincy Davidson, in this county, on the 17 inst, Mr. TRUXTON DAVIDSON, Esq, of Woodville, in the 41st year of his age.
Mr. Davidson was a native of North Carolina. In 18-6 he emigrated to Mississippi, and entered the profession of the law at Woodville, where he remained in the practice of his profession from which he obtained high distinction, until disease arrested his career of honor and usefulness. He served with great credit to his family and honor to himself both in the capacity of Representative and senator of the State of Mississippi. He came to Texas a few months ago in the vain hope that our more salubrious climate would restore him to health--but alas! a grave!
