Clarence L. Curtis, 90, of Sweet Home died Thursday at his home.

He was born in Johnson, Wash., the son of Alvin and Grace (Prunnel) Curtis. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1946 and settled in California in 1948. Clarence worked as a machinist at Travis Air Force Base until retiring in 1972. He then moved to Yamhill and settled in Sweet Home in 1975.

Clarence was a member of the Grant Street Church of Christ in Lebanon. He enjoyed rock hounding and working with his hands.

He married Wouida Long on Aug. 21, 1982, in Gresham. She survives.

Other survivors include children Wendell Curtis of Albany and Wanda "Kathy" Collins of Taiwan; stepchildren Alota Phelps of Gresham, and Marsha and Paul Hannan of Grants Pass; brother Lee; sisters Bernice, Marjery, Elva, Thelma and Zelda; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leola (Crump) Curtis; brothers Al and Gene; and sisters Dorothy and Connie.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
