During the Civil War, James P.E. Clark (37) and his oldest sons William Kenner Clark and Gilbert J. Clark enlisted in the Confederate Army (1861) in Ellis County, TX under the 19th Brigade. Only William Kenner Clark came home alive.1Lt J. P. Clark was killed April 22, 1863 during a civil war skirmish in southeast Washington County, Arkansas.

His grave is no longer marked, this picture of the stone was taken about 1985, but the stone is missing now.

He is buried with a small group (3-4?) graves on the Paschal farm.
