OBITUARY
John Q. Adams
John Q. Adams, son of William and Ada Williams, was born at Harrisonville, Missouri, May 2, 1900, and departed this life at Selden, Kansas, September 7, 1949, at the age of 49 years, 4 months, 5 days. At the age of 5 his parents moved to Grainfield, Kansas. In 1907 they moved to Oklahoma, later moving back to Grainfield. In 1927 he moved to Selden, Kansas, and began work for Tom Sloan. Later he and Tom started farming in partnership. On August 30, 1928, he was united in marriage to Delila Cox. To this union one girl was born. In the year of 1931 he joined the Baptist Church at Selden. He was a kind and loving father and a wonderful friend, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Preceding him in death were his father, mother, two brothers, Clay and Charlie, one sister, Ella Mae. He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter, Betty Mae, three brothers, Harry of Goodland, Roy of Sidney, Nebraska, Ed of Dresden, one sister, Margaret Coatney of Centerville, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends.
