Jesse Simmerson Dies in Baldwin
Well-Known Farmer and Merchant to Be Buried Monday
Milledgeville, Ga.,
Nov. 6 - Jesse Sim[m]erson, 60, outstanding merchant and farmer of Baldwin county, died at 7 o'clock, Sunday morning.
Ever since his son, Ralph Simmerson, was shot here several weeks ago, Mr. Simmerson's health had been failing.
Mr. Simmerson was born in Hancock county, but moved to Milledgeville when a young boy. For 25 years he had been a leader here as a merchant and farmer.
Besides his wife [Annie] he is survived by one son, Ralph Simmerson; two daughters, Misses Marguerite and Runetta; two brothers, W.M. Simmerson of Macon, and Tom Simmerson of Sandersville.
The funeral will be held at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at Black Springs Baptist church, of which he was a member.
The pallbearers will be: W.H. Rives, W. N. Knight, Edgar Long, Howard Underwood, Roland Lawrence, W.J. Haynie, Dr. Richard Binion, Frank Broome, Joe T. Andrews, Robert Ashifield, R.W. Edmond and Miller R. Bell.
