Note: The burial record for Isabel only states that she was buried in Billerica. However, she was living with her son Edward when she died, and she is most likely buried in this cemetery where Edward and some of his children were later buried.

Isabel was the daughter of Thomas and Anne Burbage of Great Packington, Warwickshire, England, and was baptized there 10 Nov 1611. She was married at Arley, Warwickshire on 13 Aug 1633 to John FARMER, the son of John and Elizabeth Farmer of Ansley, Warwickshire. She and John had nine children born at Ansley, born from 1635 to 1655. Her husband died in 1658, and in 1671 she joined the young family of her son Edward and two of her other children, and immigrated to New England, settling in Billerica in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Isabel was remarried about 1674 to Elder Thomas Wiswall of Newton who d. 6 Dec 1683. By the following winter she had moved to live with her son Edward, who was appointed her guardian. She died at his house on 21 May 1686 and was buried at Billerica the next day. Genealogist John Farmer called her "a woman of masculine courage and spirit".
