Daughter of Joel Walker Jones (1779-1827) and Agnes Gibson.
Granddaughter of John Jones Jr. and Elizabeth (Easley) Jones, Thomas Gibson and Martha Gibson.

Some family trees show her death as 1842 and others as 21 Sept 1886.
He married his second wife Mary Walker Longwood on Oct. 18, 1843 and divorced her in 1850.
The Winston plantation at Gainesville adjoined the James Isbell plantation, which Gov. Winston purchased after the death of James Bates Isbell in 1857. His first wife had been buried in the Isbell family cemetery located there. Gov. Winston moved from Gainesville to Mobile to live with his daughter Agnes and died there.
Burial records in Mobile show he was first buried there in Magnolia Cemetery, his body later exhumed and carried to Gainesville to be buried by his wife, as was his daughter after him.
