Native Son of Victor Dies At Home Of Cousin In Des Moines Sunday

Victor: Funeral services for Lewis Scott Harden, 70, a native of the Victor community, were held Tuesday afternoon at the McAninch funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. J. Pritchard.

Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

A son of John and Mary Ann Manatt Harden, he was born at Victor Feb. 4, 1874. He spent the first 30 years of his life in the Victor community, farming most of the time.

Mr. Harden was an osteopath and practiced in Belle Plaine for three years, moving then to Des Moines, where he continued his practice for some time.

For the past several years Mr. Harden has been in failing health and he has made his home with his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Murvin in Des Moines for the past 15 years. He passed away in that city Sunday.

He leaves to mourn his passing two brothers, Virgil of Des Moines and Dave of Blairstown; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Clewitt of Blairstown, Mrs. Ed Blair of Victor and Mrs. William Wright of Van Horne.

His parents, one sister, Mrs. Mary Wheeler, and one brother, Ed, preceded him in death.
