Cliff Snider, 74, of rural Lincoln, Missouri died Monday evening, September 4, 2017, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1943, in Appleton City, Mo., the son of Walter Grant Snider and Frances Mae (Anderson) Snider. On July 7, 1983, in Sweet Springs, Mo., he married Sharron Kay Foote, and she survives of the home.
He worked for General Motors for 30 years, first at the Leads plant, then in Shreve Port, Louisiana, and finally retiring from the Fairfax plant in Kansas City. Along with his wife, he owned and operator Snider’s Christmas Tree Farm, south of Windsor. He was a hard worker from an early age. As a boy he traveled with his family to pick fruit in season in California. Later he helped construct the various Minuteman missile silos in the area. He was an avid carpenter, building his own home and several buildings on his property. He kept his property in pristine condition and also enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the United Auto Workers union and had attended the Assembly of God of Windsor Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Tammy Wurster (John) San Angelo, Texas; a son, Richard Snider, Calhoun, Mo.; 2 step-sons, Howard Rader Jr. (Joan), Sweet Springs, Mo., Mike Reynolds, Marshall, Mo.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clyde Snider and Gary Snider; 7 sisters, Thelma Richter, Margie Kincheloe, Shirlene Terry, Bonnie Bailey, Gwen Johnson, Charlotte Gillespie, and Gail Vaughn; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and 2 special care givers Gloria Hartt, and Amanda LeClaire. He was preceded in death by a daughter Valarie Timmons; an infant daughter Kelly Reynolds; 3 brothers, Donald Snider, Lloyd Snider, and Keith Snider; and 3 sisters, Virginia Preston, Vernetta Clark, and Claudine Champ.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Gene Ekstrand officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Benton County Hospice, and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
