Lucille B. Clingman, age 82, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, at her residence following a six month battle with cancer.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 8. 2017, at Faith Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa, with Pastor Jon Rees officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening. Interment will take place at the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Wayland, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for either Faith Baptist Church or Hospice of Washington County. Lucille was born January 8, 1935, in Henry County, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Bernice (Randall) Wenger. She attended school in Wayland, Iowa. Lucille was united in marriage with Wesley D. Roth on August 3, 1952. She later married Deane Clingman on July 13, 1969, in Burlington, Iowa.

Lucille was a long time member of Faith Baptist Church in Washington where she was active for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking for her family – especially her grandchildren. Lucille cherished her time with her family whether they visited her, or she and Deane traveled to see them. Deane and Lucille were known for their generosity and help with Christian organizations, especially with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). They also enjoyed traveling in their RV, going on numerous mission trips, visiting 49 states.

Lucille is survived by six children; son, Larry D. Clingman and wife Dee of Hermitage, TN; son John W. Clingman and wife Rebecca of Castle Rock, CO; daughter, Patricia S. Peters and husband Ken of Sunrise Beach, MO; son, Terry D. Roth and wife Brenda of Grand Island, NE; daughter, S. Denise Donndelinger and husband Vince of Twinsburg, OH.; and son Michael J. Roth and wife Teri of Washington, IA. Along with her children, Lucille is survived by 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by two sisters, Lavonne McGuire of Morton, IL; and Louise Eichelberger and husband Dean of Wayland, IA.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilbur Wenger; husband, Wesley Roth in 1965; and husband Deane Clingman in 2016.
