Ann and her husband lived in Millinocket, Maine where they owned and operated the only general store in town for many years. After retiring they moved to RoseCastle of Zephyrhills, Florida where they enjoyed playing golf every day. Over the past year, Ann lived at West Winds assisted living community and was blessed to be cared for by several special friends.
Her caregivers made it possible for Ann to live her remaining years with independence and dignity. "She became more than a friend, but family. She taught me strength and determination to live a long joyful life. Even as I sat by her side enjoying our last days together she demonstrated great courage and fearlessness. I will always remember Ann as a vibrant, strong-hearted woman. She will be greatly missed. Till we meet again." - Zabrina "Ann was a very special lady. I grew to love her very much. I could always depend on her to keep me in line. We formed a very special bond. Ann was very warm and loving and had a wonderful sense of humor. I learned many things from her, and she will always hold a special place in my heart." - June "Ann was a strong-willed, independent woman with an iron inner strength. Never once did I hear her complain. Ann was a wonderful woman and she will be missed."
Graveside will take place at 10:00 AM, April 17, 2015 at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City. For those who wish to send flowers, Hodges Family Funeral Home will accept delivery and bring them to the grave site. For those who have requested to make a charitable donation: Florida Parrot Rescue, which is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Ann was a foster parrot mom and was caring for a bird for the rescue group. Hodges Family Funeral Home took care of the arrangements.
