Edward Beyler, sixty-nine years old, a lifelong resident of this community, died at his home at 317 West Plymouth street last Thursday afternoon after an illness of a year.
Mr. Beyler was a son of Peter and Catherine (Berger) Beyler and was born March 5, 1867, in Bremen. On March 13, 1894, he was united in marriage with Mary Weiss, who survives. Other surviving relatives are four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Siemsen of Highland Park, Ill., Miss Valeria Beyler of Chicago, Miss Edith Beyler of Naperville, Ill.; and Miss Olive Beyler of Delavan, Ill.; three sons, Oscar Beyler of Naperville, Ill., Raymond Beyler of Argos and Lester Beyler of Delavan, Ill; one sister, Mrs. Emma Knoblock of Bremen and one brother, George Beyler of South Bend.
Mr. Beyler had lived in this community all his life. He resided on a farm at the south edge of Bremen until two years ago when he moved to his home on West Plymouth street.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two oclock at Salem Evangelical church. Rev. Elmer Smith, assisted by Rev. I. H. Griesemer, officiated in the service. Burial was in the Bremen cemetery.
