Michael "Mike" Paul Dugas, Sr. passed away on May 17, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 58 years. He was the beloved husband of Maria Eymard Dugas for 38 years and the loving father to Michael Paul Dugas, Jr. (wife, Angela Drouant Dugas) and Michelle Dugas Saucier (husband, Korey Michael Saucier). He was also the loving grandfather to many beautiful grandchildren, to whom he adored. He is survived by his mother, Marie Helen Poche Dugas; his sister, Patricia Dugas Peyton (husband, Paul Peyton); sisters-in-law, Ann Eymard Cockrell and Susan Palmisano Dugas as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will join his late father, Joseph Paul Dugas and late brother, Danny James Dugas in peaceful rest. The family wishes to thank Dr. Greg Bizzette and staff and Hospice Compassus for the level of attention, care and compassion that they provided. Special thanks are also extended to the staff of Belle Chasse Academy for the kindness and compassion extended above and beyond in his time of need.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. A Mass will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121 (www.cancer.org).
