"And so it was that she, having waited long and endured patiently realized and obtained What God had promised" Hebrews 6:15 Stepping into her art room was like stepping into a magical world. And we loved when she showed us how to mix paint colors and create watercolor landscapes like she did. She shared recipes, magazine subscriptions, devotionals, and extra kitchen towels she ordered. She was a beautiful artist and a voracious reader and student of the Bible.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Besides being an accomplished watercolor artist, she was an exceptional seamstress, loved penguins, and The Hallmark Channel. She loved her family and we will miss her very much.
She is survived by her son, Dan Porter; her daughter, Debbie Porter Camp (Jim); her 3 grandchildren, Kelly Camp Burkett (Michael), Matt Camp (Sealey); and Ryan Porter (Jamie). She had 8 great-grandchildren, Porter Burkett, Sophie Burkett, Skylar, Gracie, and Ava Porter, Caroline Porter, and Evan Porter; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Ivona Garrett (Rodney), a brother, JC Jones (Maxine), brothers-in-law, Tom Porter, Brad Porter, James Porter, Amos Porter; and sisters-in-law, Rosa Porter, Ruth Porter and Jean Porter; and a grandson, Brad Porter. The family would like to thank the outstanding staff of Providence Hospital Heart Institute and Dr. Michael Foster for their loving care and also, Dr. Hartvigsen and his staff at Heartstrings Hospice for their care and compassion.
