"We decided to get married on my birthday, October 12. I sent to Enterprise for a recommend. It didn't come on the 11th, so we had to wait another day. It came on the 12th and we went to Deweyville and got on the Bamberger and went to Centerville. We stayed with Elma's Aunt Minnie and Uncle Charles Smith. Uncle Charles had quite a sense of humor and liked to tease. He told us we couldn't sleep together that night but he would let us the next night when we came back.
...
We went to a hotel and stayed the night. No way were we going back to Uncle Charles' to stay. On the 14th we boarded the Bamberger, went back to Deweyville, then back to Howell."
