American actress, Jayne moved to California and started her Hollywood career in 1932 at 17 years old. She was one of the few girls who signed a contract with RKO, Jayne appeared in Busby Berkeley’s musical’s 42nd Street (1933) and Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933) also appearing in Roy Del Ruth's film The Little Giant (1933). The same year Jayne met playwright Jack Kirkland, she married Jack on march 23, 1934, After an up and down period of about half a year, they divorced in February 1935. In May 1935 Jayne met Henry J. Topping, Jr., a New York banker and wealthy heir, the happy couple wed on August 6, 1935. One of the first female pilots in the United States, Jayne flew a six-passenger plane from Detroit to New York in 1937, for which she was featured in Life magazine. In August 1937, Bob and Jayne divorced. In December 1938, she arrived in Hawaii and In January 1940, Jayne married her third and last husband, Richard Durant. Jayne Durant died from cancer on May 29, 1993, in Honolulu.
