Marvin E. Bradley, 90, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Oklahoma City after an extended illness. He was born on August 23, 1927 in Colony, Oklahoma to W.L. and Bertha I. (Patterson) Bradley.
He graduated from Alfalfa High School. After graduation he served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1946 to 1949. He married Mary Frances Dittmer on November 24, 1949 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma. He went on to graduate from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma in August of 1952 and immediately began his long teaching career with Fort Cobb Schools. In 1986 Marvin retired after 34 years of serving in the Fort Cobb School system. During that time he touched the lives of numerous children on their road to becoming adults. When he wasn't teaching he enjoyed spending his time golfing, bowling, fishing and playing dominoes. But, building and working with wood brought him his greatest pleasure. Marvin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb and served as a deacon there. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by: His wife, Frances Bradley, of the home in Fort Cobb, OK, 3 sons: Allen Bradley, Elk City, OK, David Bradley and his wife, Dianna, of Okla. City, OK, Brian Bradley and his wife, Tammy, of Fort Cobb, OK, 3 daughters: Debbie Bellamy and her husband, Johnny, Fort Cobb, OK, Jennifer Lindsey and her husband, Gary, of Carnegie, OK, Carol Joplin and her husband, Clint, of Ryan, OK, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; W.L. and Bertha I. Bradley and 4 brothers; Marten Bradley and Melvin Bradley and two infants
