Buddi was born 20 May 1920 in Flagler, Colorado, a daughter of Chris and Frieda Schwindt. She lived in Flagler until she was eight, then the family moved to Olpe, Kansas then to Quincy, Kansas, where she grew up with her seven brothers and sisters. In high school, Buddi was a member of the glee club and orchestra. Along with being Valedictorian, she was a state champion basketball player and was named the state's top guard. Buddi attended Newman Memorial Hospital College in Emporia, Kansas where she trained as a nurse.
In 1942 she met and married Harold Jerome Ellison, the love of her life. After their marriage the couple moved to Ogden, Utah, where Buddie worked as a supervisor in the premature nursery department for Dee Hospital. Later she worked as an alternate supervisor at IRS.
Buddi was a member of Ogden's First Methodist Church where she served first as a children's Sunday School Teacher and then as an adult Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years.
She was a master crafts person at crochet and knitting, and she loved to read and garden.
Her tenaciousness, generosity, compassion and kindness will leave those who knew her with an empty space deep inside, but the love felt will always remain.
Graveside services and interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
