He was the son of the late James McClure and Lula Taylor Hendrix.
Surviving are his five daughters, Tammy McElveen (Bill) of Columbia, Cheri Carson (Chris), Candi Lay (Robert), Tessa Collins (Cal) and Marie Blackstock (Brian) all of Greenville; grandchildren, Elizabeth McElveen, Mary Greenberg (Andy), Charlotte Willard (Preston), Will Lay, Harrison and Robert Collins, and Libby Blackstock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth Syracuse Hendrix; two brothers and seven sisters, of which he was the youngest; and his long time companion, June Clark.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jackie Lindsay, Jack Logan, and special niece, Jo McAllister for their love and care.
