he was a member of the Hope Lodge #32 in Monroe, where he served in various appointed positions; honorary past excellent high priest of poston chapter #50, holy royal arch masons of Monroe. he was advanced to the 32nd degree sublime prince of carpenter consistory of #164 in Maxton, NC.
he retired from the Charlotte area transit system, (CATS) in Charlotte, NC in 2012. after retirement, he continued to work part-time as a driver with Union county transportation until his passing.
