KINGS MOUNTAIN- Mrs. Vergie Gilliard Bush, 82, departed this life Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at home.
She was born August 18, 1926, to the late Odell and Bertha Gilliard Littlejohn in Anderson, S.C.
She was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she served tirelessly as a member of the Senior Usher Board and Senior Missionary Circle. She retired from Doran Mills and continued to work as a domestic employee until her passing.
In addition to her parents, her loving husband, Johnny E. Bush, Sr., and her youngest son, Willie Lee Bush, preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish fond memories, two sons, Johnny E. Bush, Jr. (Sue) of Monroe and Charles E. Bush of Cherryville: four daughters, Shirley Bailey (Floyd) of Charlotte, Bonnie Whisnant (Ray "Fox") of Cherryville, Jonnie Houser (Ansel) of Kings Mountain and Darlene Smith (Wayne) of Gastonia. Her presence will be missed by her one special daughter-in-law, Evelyn Bush, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, a special sister-in-law, Hazel Brandon, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
VISITATION: One hour before service.
FUNERAL: Zion Hill Baptist Church.
BURIAL: Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
