Jimmy Perry, 79, of Nash, Okla., formerly of Plainview, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Enid, Okla. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Robert Malcom of Western Heritage Fellowship in Hale Center officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born Jan. 19, 1933, to W.A. and Fannie Elizabeth Williamson Perry in Abernathy, Texas. He grew up and attended schools in Plainview. He served in the U.S. Army in Kettering, England. While in England he met Gwendoline Mae Allcoat. They married on May 21, 1955, in Kettering. They moved to Plainview in 1956 to make their home.

He worked at the co-op and drove a truck for Ken Curry Motor Freight. He then worked at United Farm Industries until 2005 when he retired. He moved to Nash, Okla., just six months ago to be near his family. He enjoyed his dogs and working in the barn.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Gwendoline, who died Oct. 16, 2003; three sons, Gerald, Richard and Terry Perry; one grandson, Shean Crawford; three brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by one son, Buster Perry of Plainview, Texas; three daughters, Carolyn McGowan of Plainview, Barbara Cook of Nash, Okla., and Beverly Crawford of Plainview; one brother, Arnold Perry of Tulia; one sister, Nette White of Plainview; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
