Nettie McAllister Dodds McCall died peacefully in her home in Washington, Utah on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Born September 22, 1922, she would have turned 95 in just a few weeks. She was born in Kanab, Utah and was the thirteenth child of Richard Samuel and Ida Young McAllister. Her dad nicknamed her “Lucky number 13”.

Nettie is survived by her children Larry Glynn (Fernanda) Dodds Folsom, California, Donald George Dodds, Elk Grove, California, daughter-inlaw Marcia Lauffer Dodds Auburn, California and Darla Kathleen (Matti) Helske, Washington, Utah.

She is survived by grandchildren Donna (Jack) Johnson, Mark (Kelly) Dodds, Richard Dale Dodds, Mac (Tina) Dodds, Stephanie Dodds, Neil Dodds, Ali Dodds, Michael (Sini) Helske, Tim Helske, Paul Helske, Mark Helske and Sarah Helske. She has fourteen greatgrandchildren, and two great- great- grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Glynn C. Dodds, and her second husband William C. McCall. She had 13 siblings who proceeded her in death, Elma Miles, Beulah Frost, Luetta Hall, Bernell, John, Annie Heaton, Chester, Boyd, Eleanor Hall, Rue Heaton, Marcia Crawford, Lawrence, and Mark.

She was proceeded in death by her sons Dale Cecil Dodds, Orangevale, California, and Bruce Karl (Marcia) Dodds, Auburn, California, grandson Randall Wayne Dodds, Fair Oaks, California, and great-grandson Dustin Jacob Dodds, Roseville, California.

Nettie met her husband Glynn Dodds (of Panguitch, Utah) while she was attending Dixie High School and Glynn was attending Dixie College in St. George, Utah. Both of their parents worked in the St. George Temple at that time. They were married on November 16, 1938 in the St. George temple.

While in Utah, Nettie and Glynn lived in St. George, Salt Lake and Panguitch. They spent most of their married life in California where they raised their four boys and one girl. (Long Beach, Perris, Hemet, Bellflower, Orangevale and Citrus Heights), They also lived in Page, and Joseph City, Arizona. In 1976, when it was time t o retire, they came back to Dixie where they had started out nearly 40 years earlier. Glynn died in December 1991.

In 1995 Nettie married William McCall. They enjoyed life together for about 8 years. He died in April 2004.

In 1954 Nettie decided to go back to school to become a nurse. Throughout her nursing career she took care of many people. Her patients gave her lots of positive feedback saying that they felt safe when she was around. She was always dedicated to doing things right so nursing was a good fit for her.

Although she was committed to being an excellent nurse, her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She always attended every sporting event, play, recital, or whatever her kids were involved with. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren dearly.

Nettie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of her life. She has served in Relief Society, Young Womens, and Primary, and served as an ordinance worker in the St. George, Utah temple.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 19th at 3:30 at the Washington Chapel at 82 North Main street. There will be a viewing before the funeral at 2:00-3:00. Also, on Friday evening therewill be a viewing at Spilsbury Mortuary between 5:00-7:00. Nettie will be buried in the St George City Cemetery following the funeral.
