He was born March 2, 1948 in Fayetteville to J.N. and Bonnie Lollar Hawkins.
Jim passed away from complications from cancer surgery.
He was employed by Tune Concrete for 25 years; was President of Basic Block Group for 10 years; on the Board of Pagnozzi Charities; he was President of the Fayetteville Country Club (2 different terms); from 1979-1980 he was ER at the Elks Lodge; a member of the Homebuilders Association; President of the Sherman Lollar Little League and Babe Ruth League; Jim was President of the American Legion for NWA Baseball; and an Army veteran during the Vietnam Era.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.N. Hawkins and a brother, Michael Wayne Hawkins.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carol Jenkins Hawkins of the home; his mother, Bonnie Hawkins; a son, Jay Hawkins of Fayetteville; a daughter, Lindsey Hawkins of Hindsville; and a grandson, Robert (Bobby) Hawkins of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be at the Fayetteville/Springdale Elks Lodge from 4 P.M. to ? Saturday, August 19, 2017.
