Abraham's mother was Alice D. Newcomb. I have not been able to find a grave for her yet but if I do, I will submit another edit. According to her obituary, she died in Cherokee (Page 4 of The Cherokee Leader, published in Cherokee, Iowa on Saturday, October 10th, 1874)
From Abraham Sr's obit: He married Alice D. Newcomb November 17, 1871. To this union two sons were born, Joseph L., now of North Sacramento, Calif., and Abraham jr., who died in infancy. (Page 6 of The Cherokee Daily Times, published in Cherokee, Iowa on Friday, February 16th, 1934)
