Eugene Forrest Hammer, 66, of Globe died April 4, 2003 at Cobre Valley Community Hospital. He was born in Union, Iowa, and had lived in Arizona 36 years.
He was an Air Force veteran and a foreman for Magma Copper. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Miami Elks Lodge, volunteer fireman for Miami, deacon at Central Heights Baptist Church, and a member of Steel Workers Union No. 586 and Cobre Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Hammer of Globe; one daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and James Mills of Globe; one son and daughter-in-law, Forrest and Debra Hammer of Globe; three brothers, Robert Hammer of Roosevelt, Marvin Hammer of Vinton, Iowa, and Stephen Hammer of Topeka, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Hammer will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, April 9) at Central Heights Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Lamont Mortuary.
