Miss Willmine Chambers of La Harpe, Kansas, and Mr. John Haughton, of Emporia, Kansas, were united in marriage at St. Mary's Church, at Eagle Creek, Lyons County, Kansas, on April 28, 1924.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Willmine Chambers and a 1923 graduate of the LaHarpe High School. She taught one year of school near Olpe, Kansas. The groom is a mechanic in one of the garages at Emporia, and they will make their home there.

Funeral services for John Andrew Haughton, 46, machinist for the Swallow Airplane company, who died Friday evening in a local hospital, will be conducted Tuesday morning by Msgr. W.M. Farrell in St. Mary's cathedral. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Recitation of the rosary will be held Monday evening at the chapel of the Downing mortuary.

Haughton is survived by his wife, Willmine, of the home, 210 1/2 South Emporia; a daughter, Miss Pearl Haughton, and a son, John R. Haughton, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Haughton, Madison, Kansas, four sisters and three brothers.
