Sue Ann Keller Forestello, age 80, died on Friday, August 4, 2017 in San Antonio after a long battle with cancer. She spent her growing up years in Mason, TX and graduated from Mason High School.
She moved to San Antonio, TX after graduation and worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She returned to Mason, TX and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Banter Equipment Company and the Mason County Farmers Co-op. In 1959, she returned to San Antonio and went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
In June of 1967, she married the love of her life. Sue was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and president from 1983-1984. She also joined the Christopher Columbus Ladies Auxiliary to help support the Christopher Columbus Italian Society. She was president from 1991 through 1994 and again was president from 2013 through 2016. As a member of San Francesco di Paola Catholic Church she was a member of the choir and choir coordinator for much of the 50 years she was there. Her voice was beautiful ans strong, filling the church any time she sang.
Sue was a Girl Scout troop leader, President of the Catholic Committee on Girl Scouting, published in Who's Who of American Poetry. She volunteered for many organizations and with her husband Buddy, helped to organize the Homeless Dinner and the 100 Club Spaghetti Dinner. She had a servant's heart and truly gave her all to the causes she championed. She was a truly devout Catholic with a special love for the Blessed Virgin and the Rosary.
Sue is survived by her husband of 50 years, her only daughter and her husband, two granddaughters, one sister, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. Her many friends were also like family to her.
