Melvin Ray Bearden, Sr., age 81 of Scottsboro, AL, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. He is survived by daughters, Juanita (David) Stone and Judy (John) Precise; son, Melvin Ray Jr. (Gail) Bearden; grandchildren, Jason Lee (Misty) Bearden, Kim Stone, Monica (David) Clark, Michelle Stone, Rory Martin, and Monroe David (Tiffany) Martin; great-grandchildren, Nathan Bearden, Christian and Emma Lemaster, Kaleigh Bigler, Madilynn and Emilee Stone, Austin, Bryson, Deakan, Holden Clark, Dalton Bearden, Dawson and Dylan McCreary, Rubie and Keira Clark, Cherokee, John, Eric, and David Martin, Jr; sister, Doris Nell Bearden Hopkins; special dog, Hopper; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Bearden; parents, Monroe and Mattie Bearden; daughter, Betty Bearden; grandson, Melvin Bearden III; sister, Sue Peyton; and brothers, Monroe Junior Bearden and Joe Wheeler Bearden. Visitation for Mr. Bearden will be Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5-9 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro.
