Gary E. Grissinger, 63, of 1262 Bratton Road, Three Springs, died unexpectedly Friday, July 21, 2017, as a result of injuries received in an accident at his home.
Born Sept. 24, 1953, in Springfield Township, he was the son of Esther (Wilson) Grissinger of Three Springs and the late Ernest Wayne Grissinger. He was united in marriage to the former Rose Shannon Oct. 20, 1990, in Chambersburg. Mrs. Grissinger survives.
Mr. Grissinger is survived by his siblings, Betty Leighton and husband, Delano, of St. Thomas, Nancy Stains, Linda Kelly and husband, Eugene, twin brother Larry Grissinger and wife, Joyce, and David Grissinger, all of Three Springs, and Judy Pyles and husband, George, of Neelyton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold “Mooch” Grissinger.
Mr. Grissinger was a member of the Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church.
He was a 1972 graduate of Southern Huntingdon County High School.
Mr. Grissinger retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, in October 2016 with 42 years of service. He was also involved in farming for much of his life and especially since his retirement.
He enjoyed farming, hunting and attending the Belleville auction.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Immanuel Bible Church, Three Springs, with the Revs. Steve Heaster and Kevin Witters officiating. Interment will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
