CWO4 Mason Ples Jones, United States Army, Retired, died suddenly April 18, 2017 in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Lois Eloise and Mattie Ethel and previous wife Anna Mae Jones. Surviving are his wife Doris R. McGeary, children and step children, Ronald Jones (Wife, Dana), Patricia Goode (Husband, Shelby), Vickie Huges (Husband, Miller), Greg McGeary (Beverly), Kevin McGeary, Erin (McGeary) Apollonio(Thomas). The extended family included several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mason was born in Santa Rosa County, Florida 19 Sept 1931. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He attended courses at Brevard Community College and was a Graduate of Rollins College. In addition to Mason's over 33 year service in the U.S. Military, he worked additional years for the US Government, including Quality Control for NASA for a total of 45 years of U.S. Government service. Mason had been a regular member of VFW and MOAA Cape Canaveral Chapter as well as Moose Lodge in Melbourne, FL.∼
