Ruth was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Lehighton. She was a great baker and her grandchildren will miss her famous funny cake. Most of all, Ruth adored her family and friends who she made sure to stay connected to.
Survivors: daughter Lisa Derkits and her husband Tom of Emmaus; grandchildren Megan, Thomas and Paul; sisters in law Betty and Barbara Miller; godson Ronnie Miller; and many special nephews and nieces. Ruth was the last of the six Miller children, being predeceased by her sisters Mildred Hammel and Dorothy Hallman, along with brothers Earl, Curtis and Joseph Miller.
Services: Her viewing will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday evening in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd. Whitehall, PA 18052, located one block south of the Fullerton Ave exit of Route 22. Graveside services officiated by Rev. John P. Hassler will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday in Section K of Lehighton Cemetery.
