Obituary:
"The death of Charles Chase of Junction City, Kansas, took place very suddenly
Friday afternoon of last week at the home of his nephew, Earl C. Chase, at Whig Corners
where he has been visiting for the past six weeks. Mr. Chase was the son of the late
David and Sibyl Barnum Chase and was born in Hubble Hollow in the town of Middlefield
seventy years ago. He had lived in Kansas for many years. Surviving are two sons,
Clarence E. of Junction City and Raymond D. of Natchez, Miss.; one granddaughter, Anice
of Junction City; one brother Alphonso of Utica, and one sister, Miss Lucy Chase, of
Cooperstown. The funeral was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loren D. Sperry on
Susquehanna avenue in Cooperstown, the Rev. C. E. Brown officiating. Burial was made at
Junction City where the body was accompanied by the nephew, Earl C. Chase."
