She was my best friend for 10 yrs. Kitty was there for me when her daddy deployed constantly for years. I was never alone when she was around.

In 2011 she started to have ragged breathing, took her to the vet, was told it was allergies. Her daddy came home from Germany and we were getting ready to come to Hawaii, she got worse. The vet checked again and said the "flap" in her throat wasn't closing all the way, so they gave her meds, it worked for a while.

Then it got worse, she had to go to a specialist, they took x-rays and more blood-work. The x-rays showed that her esophagus was being pushed to the side and she had spots on her lungs...she has Thyroid Cancer. This was on Dec 23, 2011. Worse Christmas ever, To this day I hate Christmas/my birthday because I lost her on the holidays.

We were so shocked and saddened. The Doctor said it moved fast and she had a few weeks/days. And when it was time, Kitty would let us know...and she did, Dec 28th the appointment was made.

It was like a deathwatch..you knew it was coming but you cannot do anything about it. She was happy...so happy...she wanted to eat but it was hard, so she drank more water than anything else.

Kitty was a happy good girl to the end...still wanted to play and be herself.

Then the day came, Dec 29th...I kept praying that some miracle would happen. But it didn't, my prayers and pleading didn't work, at 1600 Dec 29th,2011 she went to the Rainbow Bridge free of pain and healthy once again.

The worse pain I have ever felt, but it had to be done, I know that now, but it doesn't make it any easier.

She was like a daughter me and my husband. I am so thankful for the 11yrs I had with her, I would do it again.

I miss her so much, this time of year makes it worse. I wanted to share her with you all ...please make sure to give extra loves to all your furry loved ones, because you dunno if they will be gone in a blink of an eye.

RIP Kitty Searcy AKA Puppy Princess, Stinky Butt and Kitty Butt.

There is a charity that helps animals with Cancer and research to stop it, I donate every year since she has been gone....if you can check it out...they do good stuff <3 www.riedelcody.org
